48th Marine Corps Marathon 2023

The Washington Marine Corps Marathon, founded in 1975, holds a special place in the hearts of both military personnel and civilians alike. Its original purpose was to bridge the gap between the post-Vietnam community and the armed forces, while also raising funds for a worthy cause – the Semper Fi Fund which supports injured marines. One administrative staff who had personally experienced the impact of this marathon was Thomas Alexander, the Assistant Director of Operations at Center for Social Change. As a participant in the 48th Marine Corps Marathon, he ran a grueling 25k race in Washington DC on Sunday, October 29, 2023. Despite the cold and rainy weather, Thomas persevered with determination and pride as he proudly wore his CSC t-shirt, representing the organization and promoting its mission. This event is a yearly tradition for CSC, with each year raising money and promoting camaraderie.
